Itinerary ex Dunedin or West Harbour
For this extraordinary journey, the itinerary is simple. With the help of Dunedin Railways, we're chartering a train.
Floating over the water of West Harbour as it follows the former suburban line to Port Chalmers, this train keeps going, through the great Mihiwaka tunnel and sweeping views over Purakaunui and Doctors Point, to the auspiciously solar-paneled town of Waitati. Not since the last days of railcars has Waitati been so connected by rail - this summer, The Seasider, as this train is known, will run at least daily.
Tickets include the show and travel from Dunedin Station to Waitati (including return if required) via Dunedin Railways. This makes the highly discounted price of travel possible. The train will have a licensed bar on board, and Waitati Hall is a few hundred metres from where the train stops.
Please be at Dunedin Station at 6:45 pm, for a 7:00pm Departure.
Pickup and Drop off are also possible at Sawyers Bay - please email anthonie (dot) tonnon (at) gmail.com if you would like to do this (please note this is a less accessible stop, as there is no platform). For pick up, please arrive ten minutes early.
